Saturday

The center has a regatta. Well I thought i might as well enter, but I really can't take them seriously.

I really lost my interest when a couple of the young lads were getting serious.

Anyway we had a beach start to begin with and a couple of novices were given a head start. But the young lads were complaining that they were getting too much, so the guys let them go. They actually launched on port tack and caused the two beginners (who were on starboard) to fall off. I thought getting them disqualified would only make me feel like I was joining the dark side.

I left the beach once I'd helped the two novices back on thier way, but I ran straight into the moorings of the safety boats. I struggled with them for a while, and felt like all my moral high ground had dissapeared. Once on my way I got out to the bouy, and my mast foot seperated from the board, so I had to get rescued.

A bit of a disaster, but heh-ho.
